HONORING BRAZIL’S OUTDOORS, TWO SUSTAINABLE FASHION BRANDS COLLABORATE ON A CAPSULE COLLECTION

Two brands at the forefront of sustainability came together recently to debut a limited-edition, sustainably made collection inspired by the outdoors and the spirit of adventure. Outerwear brand BUFF and shoe company VEJA created a capsule collection of vibrant accessories with deep connections to Brazil.

The collection debuted on May 7, 2025 combining the color palettes and accessories that have made BUFF a global leader in outerwear with the form and functionality that has become signature to VEJA footwear.

“The process was fast-moving but deeply collaborative,” says Amy Olive, the director of global marketing at BUFF. “We worked closely to ensure the shoe reflected both brands’ values and design language. VEJA used their trusted, sustainable materials like wild rubber from the Amazon. BUFF contributed design direction and colour expertise to make sure the shoe matched our seasonal capsule. While many of the materials were familiar to each brand, this was the first time they were brought together in a single, co-created product.”

The result is a range of clothing that deeply honours a South American country’s celebration for the outdoors. “Brazil holds significance for both brands,” Olive says. “For VEJA, it’s the heart of their production and material sourcing. For BUFF, our Spring–Summer 2025 collection was also inspired by the biodiversity and natural energy of Brazil. That alignment made it incredibly easy to create a capsule that felt cohesive and authentic. It’s a place rich in culture, colour, and environmental value, which made it an ideal creative starting point.”

One of the pieces is the VEJA Fitz Roy Hiking Shoe, crafted with climbing-inspired laces, a custom mesh tongue, and a trail-ready sole. The shell upper is made from 100% recycled polyester that’s turned into a water-resistant fabric is treated with a PFC-free durable water repellent for eco-conscious performance. Offerings also include BUFF’s CoolNet UV® Multifunctional Neckwear, the brand’s 5 Panel Go Cap, and its Go Bucket Hat. Each piece is made in a bright palette reflective of the Brazilian landscape and designed with to complement its counterparts.

The capsule collection, took about six months to develop, according to Olive and began when VEJA approached BUFF about designing clothing together. The two certified B Corporations were already working together on community runs in France and Olive says VEJA turned to BUFF in hopes of expanding its footprint within the trail and hiking space.

Both brands brought their strengths to the table, VEJA contributed their expertise in eco-conscious footwear design, while BUFF shaped the colour direction and creative concept, drawing from their Spring–Summer 2025 collection. Colours for the shoe were selected by BUFF’s product team to align seamlessly with their Brazil-inspired capsule, ensuring that the footwear merchandises easily within the broader collection while still reflecting VEJA’s minimalist, clean aesthetic.

While the two brands don’t yet have plans to work together on another capsule collection, they will continue to work together on the community runs throughout Europe while continuing to spread the importance of sustainability in fashion and protecting Earth’s natural resources. As B Corp certified companies, both VEJA and BUFF believe that environmental responsibility should be embedded into every part of the business—from design and sourcing to marketing and community engagement. She hopes that fellow leaders in the industry can also take steps to reduce their ecological footprints. “Other brands can enhance their impact by being transparent, choosing lower-impact materials, and educating their consumers. It’s not just about the products you make, but the conversations you start and the long-term choices you support.”

The collection is available in select outerwear retailers around the world and on both brands’ websites.
